FOUR were appointed by Aylesbury Vale District Council to act as cost managers for the project to rationalise their existing office accommodation across four sites.
The project involved the refurbishment and alterations to two existing buildings witgh a floor area of approximately 50,000sq.ft. In addition as part of the project a new five year furniture supply framework was procured not only to supply all new task chairs, desks and storage units for this project but across AVDC and forthcoming projects. The turnkey responsibilities for this role included:
- Cost planning including option feasabilities
- Full procurement of all contracts to comply with public sector requirements
- Move planning and management
- Project and cost management
- CDM Co-ordinator
- Full change management process
The project was delivered 6 weeks ahead of client requirements and the final account provided a client saving of 17% against the original budget.
