We acted to project manage the extension and refurbishment of both an existing bar and creation of a new bar for John Lewis Partnership at their employee holiday centre in an historic manor house near Cookham, Berkshire.
The project also involved the design and creation of a glazed structure to link the existing and new bars, as well as work to the exterior, to create lanscaped seating areas and new parking.
Several of the challenges revolved around the fact that the building was listed and, in the course of the works, dry and wet rot was discovered, which required remedial treatment.
The project was delivered within the client’s capital budget including variations required for the remedial items and additional work requested by the client.
The end result is a stunning transformation of the space for the client and relationships and communication with the client throughout the project were excellent.
